Archbishop Muhatia Makumba marks 30 years of Priesthood

Today Tuesday October 15, 2024 marks the 30th Priestly Anniversary for Archbishop Maurice Muhatia Makumba of Archdiocese of Kisumu, Kenya.

Archbishop Muhatia was ordained a Priest for the Catholic Diocese of Kakamega on 15th October 1994.

He was appointed Bishop of Nakuru on 19th December 2009.

The Clergy was Ordained Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Nakuru on 27th February 2010 by Principal consecrator Eminence John Cardinal Njue, Principal Co-consecrator His Grace Philip Anyolo and Bishop Philip Sulumeti.

He was Appointed apostolic administrator of Kisumu Metropolitan on 20th November 2021.

This followed his Appointment as Archbishop of Kisumu Metropolitan on 18th February 2022.

He would later be Officially installed as the Archbishop of Kisumu Archdiocese on 19th March 2022 by H.E Archbishop B. Van Megan the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and south Sudan.

He is currently the Chairman of KCCB and has also served as the Chairman of KCCB – Commission for Education and Religious Education (CERE) and part-time National Executive Secretary for KCCB – Commission for Doctrine.
