Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama has defended Governor Susan Kihika’s development agenda for Nakuru County.
Speaking on Sema Na Citizen Program on Citizen TV on Thursday May 29, 2025 hosted by Rashid Abdalla, Arama was categorical that Governor Kihika has delivered on various projects.
According to Arama, Governor Kihika chose to complete all stalled projects from her predecessor Lee Kinyanjui.
He pointed out that the projects’ completion is a clear indicator that Governor Kihika believes in value for taxpayers’ money.
Arama used the moment to tell off the naysayers as far as development in Nakuru County is concerned.
“You see the problem that we had in Nakuru is that Governor Kihika came into leadership when the previous regime of Kinyanjui had initiated numerous projects and Governor chose to compete them before starting new projects,” he stated.
Arama told off Naivasha East Ward MCA Stanley Karanja who claimed that the government both national and counties had failed.
He urged the MCAs to up their role in shaping the counties and support the development agenda at county level.
According to Arama, there is need for leaders to remain positive about the leadership of the day.
During the program, issues of security for Nakuru County moreso in Nakuru East and Nakuru West.
MP Arama and Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria defended the involvement of youth in ensuring security in the society.
On her part, Bahati MP Irene Njoki stated that she has continued to hold consultations with security team at Constituency level.
She added that in Bahati Constituency, there has been good working relationship with stakeholders on matters security.
Gilgil MP Martha Wangari on her part called for the need to ensure that all stakeholders work closely towards security of the people.
The leaders called for need to support the security team through resources such as vehicles and motorbikes to help beef up security.
