Ogiek Cultural Centre has been launched in Narok County.
The Cultural Centre was launched on Tuesday March 19, 2024 at Nkareta in Narok.
The launch of the Centre is key in preserving the Ogiek Peoples’ culture.
According to Ogiek Peoples’ Development Program (OPDP) Director Daniel Kobei, the Centre will go along way in ensuring their culture remains lively even to generation to come.
“This is another milestone to Ogiek Peoples’ culture that is rich,” he said.
The centre was officially Launched by Professor Mary Gikungu-the Director General of Museums, Kenya.
She lauded the move saying it is a plus to the indigenous peoples.
