Agripreneurs’ role in shaping agriculture in Nakuru

Agripreneurs continue to play key role in boosting agriculture and food production.

The County Government of Nakuru in realizing the same, two months ago through National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP), organized Training for the implementation of the Agripreneur Model.

The training equips ToTs with essential skills that saw training of 350 agripreneurs at the grassroots level to ensure efficient dissemination and adoption of the Agripreneur acceleration Model throughout the county.

Since the training, the agripreneurs have continued to play a crucial role in supporting farmers in the adoption of Technology Innovation and management Practices, which help increase productivity, market participation, and value addition.

The training also incorporated entrepreneurship and agribusiness capacity development to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Monitoring and service delivery officer at the Governor’s office Mr. Martin Gicinga lauds the work being done by the Agripreneurs.

He noted that they are stationed in rural Ward’s that practice agriculture.

“You will find them in every rural ward across Nakuru County, the AgriPreneurs, courtesy of Governor Susan Kihika,” stated Gicinga.

According to him, the agripreneurs have the expertise, and they will always give guide on matters agriculture.

“Get in touch with your area AgriPreneur, she’s your local boy, or girl,” he added.
