Team Rani Ramchandani hosts Christmas lunch for needy families living at Gioto dumpsite

Families living at Gioto dumpsite in London Ward, Nakuru West Sub County had a reason to smile on Friday December 27, 2024 as Team Rani Ramchandani Foundation served the families with Christmas lunch.
The event was made possible through support from members of Team Rani Ramchandani and other well wishers who made the donation.

A group of women from the neighbourhood Hilton estate in London volunteered to prepare the meals.

At lunchtime, members of Team Rani led by Rani Ramchandani and Senior Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner Werre Simiyu OGW arrived at the Gioto dumpsite where they interacted with the families before serving them with lunch.

For the kids, it was a double blessing as in addition to the lunch, they also received sweets and biscuits.

According to Ms Rani Ramchandani HSC, the gesture is to ensure shared happiness among all members of society.
She added that this is an annual event where every Christmas they will be interacting with the needy families of Gioto dumpsite.
“Through donation from Team Rani and other well-wishers, we have been able to reach out to the needy families here at Gioto. This is in line with our agenda of reaching out to the needy and sharing happiness with them. This festive is all about sharing the season’s joy with the needy in society,” stated Rani.
Sentiments echoed by Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner Simiyu Werre OGW.
The DCC who is also a member of Team Rani Ramchandani Foundation, called on the society to embrace peace at family unit, adding that it translates to a better society and nation at large.
He also urged parents to up their parenting responsibility especially during this festive season.

“We all have a responsibility to ensure a better society from family level. Those who are blessed with resources should also learn to share with the needy,” he stated.

The event was also attended by Francis Waithaka from Community of Saint Egidio Nakuru.
