Nakuru Woman Rep Liza Chelule embarks on empowerment program for marginalized groups

Nakuru Woman Rep Liza Chelule has embarked on empowerment program for marginalized groups.

The initiative dubbed Inua Mama Reloaded is under National Government Affirmative Action Fund(NGAAF).

Speaking in Nakuru on Monday August 20, 2024 during the distribution of water tanks and motorbike umbrellas under the program, Chelule who was accompanied by other Women Representatives lauded the program.

According to her, the initiative is aimed to empower women groups, youth and PWDs.

She challenged women groups who are beneficiaries in all the 11 Sub Counties to continue soaring higher.

“There is no limit to what we ,as women can accomplish. We have the potential and therefore let us continue achieving more,” she stated.

The Lawmaker at the same time used the moment to call for cohesiveness.

She pointed out that politics of division have no room in Nakuru and nation at large.

While drumming support for President William Ruto, the Lawmaker urged Nakuru residents to rally behind the government of the day in ensuring development agenda.

“We are doing this empowerment program courtesy of government of the day led by President William Ruto. The President means good for this nation and we need to support him in achieving development agenda,” stated Chelule.

Under the empowerment program, the elderly women drawn across the county were able to get support in terms of water tanks for rain water harvesting and blankets to shield them during the cold weather.

Several motorbikes owners also got helmets for safety and umbrellas to shield them and their customers during rainy seasons.

According to Chelule, the program shall be rolled down to all the sub-counties.

The group of women leaders have vowed to criss-cross the country to ensure support for the women of Kenya fully.

The event was graced by Women Reps Beatrice Kemei(Kericho), Beatrice Adagala(Vihiga), Betty Maina(Muranga), Cynthia Muge(Nandi), Faith Gitau(Nyandarua), Naomi Waqo(Marsabit), Leah Sankaire(Kajiado), Jane Kagiri(Laikipia) Umma Kassim(Mandera), and Rebecca Tonkei(Narok).
