Nakuru East MCA Anthony Kamau GERU urges locals to work closely with him in tracking development projects

Nakuru East Member of County Assembly (MCA) Anthony Kamau GERU has called on residents to work closely with his office in tracking the progress of development projects in the Ward.

Speaking on Friday April 4, 2025 during held a public participation forum to allow residents express their opinions in making proposals for projects in the financial year 2025/2026, MCA Kamau was categorical that citizens have key role in matters oversight of all projects.

He added that such collaboration will ensure all proposed projects are implemented by County government on time hence value for tax payer’s money.

“As citizens, you have a role to ensure what you propose is implemented. As I push through the various offices and departments, we have to work together so that we can ensure our Ward is developed,” he stated.

The MCA also used the moment to explain to the citizens the importance of them taking part in public participation meetings especially on budget and projects.

During the meeting held at Free Area Social Hall, the residents gave their proposals on the projects that they want implemented.

At the opening of the forum,  citizens were allowed to ask questions that were responded to by MCA Kamau and Ward Administrator Mwangi Macharia.

The MCA encouraged residents to turn out in large numbers for such forums in order to participate in projects proposals.

“Public participation should be conducted for people to have an understanding of the county government plans and also on the projects proposed as it is enshrined in the constitution,” stated MCA Kamau.

It should be noted that Nakuru East Ward public participation for Financial Year 2025/2026 was chaired by Ward Admin Macharia Mwangi.
He echoed the sentiments of MCA by urging residents to always show up during public participation as is their constitutional right to participate in key development agenda.
During the forum, residents gave their projects proposals as Mwariki B, Muguga and Free Area Sub locations.

The Ward with a population of 59,888 has an allocation of 32 Million shillings for 2025/2026 Financial Year.
