Njoro Member of Parliament Charity Kathambi has told off a section of leaders and individuals who are misleading Kenyans on Finance Bill 2024.
Kathambi says some leaders have been misleading Kenyans to reject the Bill.
According to Kathambi, such individuals are enemies of development agenda.
She noted that the Finance Bill 2024 is crucial when it comes to matters development.
The second term serving lawmaker was categorical that the contentious issues that were in the Bill have been addressed through amendments.
Kathambi notes that the Bill as it is now has addressed issues of civil servants’ salaries, and development issues by appropriating funds to the relevant dockets.
She added that the NG-CDF kitty has also received an increase allocation to enable more development at grassroot level.
“Let leaders stop misleading Kenyans to reject the Finance Bill. Rejecting this Bill is rejecting development,” she stated.
The Lawmaker has called on youth and residents of Njoro to ensure they go through the Bill and understand some of the areas that will benefit them.
She lauded University students, religious leaders and other opinion leaders who visited her in Nairobi with their concerns on the Bill which we’re considered.
According to Kathambi, issues of youth have been considered in the Bill through more support to the vocational centres and the industry sector.
“Those misleading youth in Njoro should stop.We want to ensure economic empowerment for the people rather than inciting the young people,” she said.
