Biashara Ward MCA Fadhili Msuri has affirmed his commitment towards empowerment of young people.
Speaking during the distribution of empowerment tools to various groups, Fadhili noted that empowerment is key towards economic growth.
He added that this will help reduce poverty as many young people will be self reliant.
“As the MCA of Biashara Ward, I am committed to empowering our youths and eradicating poverty by equipping them with tools for self-employment,” he stated.
According to the MCA, this is the first cluster of equipment to groups in Biashara Ward.
Some of the groups that benefited included Bamaa Market, Lumumba Women Group, and CTU Youth Group.
This is an initiative under under the youth and sports empowerment program championed by Governor Susan Kihika and the MCA.
It is an event that was also attended by County Executive Committee member for sports, youths, Gender and social Services Ms.Elga Riaga, newly appointed Chief officer for sports Francis Njoroge, Chief officer for Gender and inclusivity Gladys Kamuren.l among others.
