Kuresoi South Constituency is one of the eleven sub-counties in Nakuru County. It was formed from the larger Kuresoi Constituency in 2012.
The first MP elected in Kuresoi South was Zakayo Kipkemoi Cheruiyot (ZK) of the URP party. The former DO who rose through the ranks to become PS in the Ministry of Internal Security served as MP from 2103 to 2017. In the previous term, ZK had served as MP for the larger Kuresoi Constituency (2008 – 2013).
In 2017, Hon. Joseph Tonui was elected the MP for Kuresoi South Constituency under the Jubilee Party. Tonui is a former teacher who also served as Chief Officer, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports in Kinuthia Mbugua’s government. The constituency mostly depends on Agriculture growing maize, potatoes and pyrethrum.
Kuresoi South Sub-County has four wards each with an elected MCA;

Kiptagich – Rose Chrpkoech
Tinet – David Kipkoech
Amalo – Wesley Kiptoo Maritim
The population of the Kuresoi South constituency as per the 2019 census is 155,324.
