Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has lauded PCEA Nakuru West-Shabaab Church for efforts in addressing negative vises in society.
The Church is setting up a rehabilitation centre in Kiamaina Ward, Bahati Constituency.
Governor Kihika noted that the move by the PCEA Nakuru West-Shabaab church was very much in order in addressing the issue of drugs and substance abuse among young people.
Kihika spoke on Sunday February 11, 2024 during a fundraiser in support of completion of a rehabilitation centre started by the church.
She reiterated her administration’s support towards such initiatives that add value to society.
“Happy to have joined faithfuls at PCEA Shabaab church in Nakuru Town West for church service and to support the completion of a rehabilitation centre by the church,” she stated.
With many young people getting lost in drug and substance abuse, the Governor appreciated the noble initiative by the church.
She vowed to continue working together with such like minded organizations for a better community.
The church service was also attended by Water Cabinet Secretary Zack Njeru, MPs Irene Njoki(Bahati), Samuel Arama(Nakuru West) and Shabaab MCA Macharia Wathiai who vowed total support towards the same.
