Njoro Member of Parliament Charity Kathambi prides in transformation she has brought to the Constituency since she took over leadership mantle.
Speaking on Monday at Mauche Primary during Wezesha Mama Inua Jamii Njoro Edition, Kathambi revealed that before she took over leadership, Njoro Constituency was only for the rich in terms of bursary issuance.
She however was quick to note that she has been able to ensure that bursary disbursement is transparent and that even those from poor backgrounds and have no godfathers can access the fund.
“Before I came in bursary in Njoro was for the rich and those who matter, but we have been able to bring change and ensure that bursary disbursement is inclusive to all,” she stated.
The second term serving Lawmaker added that she has been able to initiate several projects in Njoro.
The projects, she added some have been lobbied from National Government while others are under NG-CDF kitty.
She told off male politicians who served as Lawmakers before her election for failing Njoro Constituents.
“In the past they were elected and once in office they shift from Njoro Constituency hence no service to the people,” Kathambi pointed out.
According to the Lawmaker female leaders can do great if given chance and support.
She added that the nature of women is that they value life and production and that they are so close to the people just as they are to their children.
“It’s only a mother who understands children and that is why women leader when given chance to serve we do it from our hearts,” she said.
The Lawmaker pointed out that youths of Njoro have in the past been used in bad way by politicians.
However, under her leadership, Kathambi has vowed to ensure proper engagement of youth through empowerment programs and the short courses in various skills.
She reiterated her commitment towards technical and Vocational Training, adding that this will help nurture youth and ensure hands to job opportunities.
On matters alarming rising cases of teenage pregnancies in Nakuru, the Lawmaker called for a collective responsibility.
She urged parents to up their responsibility and ensure a safe society for teenagers.
Kathambi also used the moment to tell off those spearheading one term narrative.
According to her President William Ruto has a transformation agenda for the country and should be allowed to complete the first term and be given his second term to compete the same.
Kathambi urged the constituents not to fall trap to the political class championing for one term.
“Let us support our President for the agenda he has for this country. He has been in office for only three years and we can see what he has done. Let’s give him time to deliver,” she stated.
