In the Spirit of Ramadhan; 15 needy families get food donations from well-wishers

In the spirit of Holy Ramadhan, 15 needy families from the Muslim community in Nakuru on March 15, 2024 received food donations from well-wishers.

The donation was sponsored by Team Rani Ramchandani in partnership with Lions Club of Menengai.

Speaking after handing over the hampers comprising of 7 assorted foodstuff, Rani Ramchandani who is the current President Lions Club of Menengai and also the founder of Ramchandani Foundation, said they decided to show such a gesture to the families as a way of support during the fast of the Holy Month of Ramadhan for the Muslim brothers and sisters.

Rani revealed that Team Rani has rolled out a program that will run for two weeks, and that next Friday, another lot of 15 families will also benefit from the donation.

“We thought it wise to make some donations through Team Rani and Lions Club of Menengai. We are just supporting our Muslim brothers and sisters as they go on with the Ramadhan and we wish them Ramadhan Mubarak,” she stated.

The donations will be able to sustain the families for a week.

Nakuru East Senior Deputy County Commissioner Simiyu Werre who graced the event lauded Team Rani and the Lions Club of Menengai for the gesture.

“I must commend the sponsors of this donation for it is a good gesture to our brothers and sisters of Muslim community in Nakuru East,” he said.

The DCC also called on Muslims to continue praying for the nation so that peace can prevail every corner.

Sentiments echoed by Bondeni Location’s Senior Chief Alinur Hassan who also called on the beneficiaries of the donation to share with their neighbors.
