Demonstration of Police integrity in Migori County

There has been this perception that majority of police officers are corrupt and have great appetite for money.

However, this has been proven wrong by an incident in Migori County.

On November 1, 2024, at approximately 1809 hours, two officers from Suna-East Sub-County—APC Darel and APC (W) Jones—exemplified exceptional honesty and dedication to their duty.

During their patrol at Huduma Centre in Migori County, the vigilant officers found an envelope containing Ksh 50,000 in the cyber room.

According to Administration Police Media Team, without hesitation, they registered the cash under OB No 06/01/11/2024 and reported it to their immediate commander, Corporal Morine.

The Centre Manager was also informed.

The funds are now securely held, pending further action to identify the rightful owner(s).

“We commend these officers for embodying the values of integrity and justice , ( )—principles they uphold with pride each day. This act speaks volumes about the character and dedication of the Suna-East Sub-County team, and reflects the high standards upheld under the leadership of both the Sub-County and County Command. We extend our gratitude to officers nationwide for maintaining the values that build community trust and honor our mission,” the statement reads.
