
Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria has revealed why there has been delays in bursary disbursement for Nakuru East Constituents.
Speaking on Tuesday at Nakuru East NG-CDF office during a public participation forum on Constitutional Amendment Bill No 4 of 2025 on NG-CDF, the Lawmaker stated that NG-CDF Nakuru East Office lacks Fund Manager.
This follows the retirement of the officer who was serving in the position.
According to Gikaria, this has hindered disbursement of 20 million that had been allocated for the second tranche as fund manager a signatory.
“We have had a few allocation the first tranche 23 million which we gave to day schools, then we have 20 million additional.
Unfortunately we have no fund manager in our office because Mr. Edward Ratemo who was there has retired hence the reason for the delay in the cheques release,” he said.
The third term serving Lawmaker was however quick to point out that they have been in talked with regional Manager NG-CDF Mr Kimani on the same so that there can be another fund manager to enable the of disbursement.
In a quick rejoinder, Mr. Kimani who was also in attendance, revealed that consultations are on over the matter.
He assured Nakuru Town East constituents that there is hope by next week a new Fund Manager shall be in office.
MP Gikaria also used the moment to urge parents to up their responsibility of parenting.
“As it stands now Parents have left all the burden to the elected leaders. I also want to appeal to teachers not to send learners home. Children should be in school and not home for any reasons,” said Gikaria.
The MP assured that as elected leaders they continue to play their part in matters education.
