There is need for construction of Emergency rescue centres at hotspots on the Highways to help save lives during accidents.
Kenya Red cross Society Head of Region South Rift Region Mr. Felix Maiyo says this will help reduce time wasted to save a life whenever accidents occur.
Mr. Maiyo pointed out that they will partner with other stakeholders to ensure same on the busy Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
“We need to have emergency rescue centres at every hotspot on the Highways. This will go a long way in ensuring we save the time wasted in saving victims of accidents,” he stated
The officer was speaking in Nakuru in Saturday November 23, 2024 during a Cyclist Safety Competition.
He urged road users to adhere to traffic rules and ensure safety for all.
The Kenya Red Cross, with support from CBM Christian Blind Mission, EPRA Kenya, NTSA and KENHA, organized the Cyclist Safety Competition in Nakuru to promote road safety for cyclists.
The event emphasized the importance of sharing the road and advocated for creating safer spaces for cyclists to commute.
“We are working towards creating an environment where everyone on the road: cyclists, motorists, and pedestrians can coexist safely,” stated Maiyo.
