Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has faulted those proposing relocation of Nakuru ASK show Grounds.
Kagwe who spoke on Friday July 4, 2025 when he was the Chief Guest at the official opening of the Nakuru ASK show differed with those proposing that the Show Grounds be relocated from Nakuru town’s Milimani estate to a different area.
The CS pointed out that the 100 acred Nakuru ASK show Grounds is best situated and there is no reason for its relocation.
According to Kagwe, the Nakuru Show Grounds premise has been there since 1921 and should be protected at all cost.
“This show Grounds has been here since 1921 when the first ASK show was held. Why should we have the show relocated in 2025?. That’s why we are saying that all the ASK show Grounds should be protected,” he said.
Kagwe also used the moment to call on media and bloggers as well as online content creators to ensure that they highlight positive stories on agriculture.
He lauded the Institutions of higher learning for the role they have continued to play in shaping agriculture through innovation.
ASK Nakuru Branch Chairman Perminus Migwi on his part urged farmers in Central Rift Region to make good use of the show.
According to him, besides the Exhibition, the Show also plays a key platform of learning.
