The County Government of Nakuru has taken a major step in renovation and equipping of Kaptembwa Vocational Training Centre.
This is in line with Governor Susan Kihika’s agenda on ensuring youth are equipped with required technical skills.
The move is a plus to Kaptembwo Ward residents as they will soon enjoy vocational training nearer home.
Speaking during a visit to assess the current state of the institution, Chief Officer for Education Rosemary Kimani said the planned renovations and new equipment will ensure the centre meets modern training standards, providing students with quality skills and development opportunities. The county has allocated a budget for this initiative.
The institution’s compound has been levelled and a four-door ablution block and a perimeter wall have been built reaffirming Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to empowering youth through vocational training.
By enhancing these facilities, the county is creating more opportunities for young people to acquire practical skills, boost their employability, and contribute to economic growth.
The visit was also attended by Chief Officer Stella Mwaura (Lands), City Manager Gitau Thabanja, Secretary CPSB Joyce Ndegwa, Francis Njoroge from the Delivery Unit, and Ward Coordinator Khadija Abdi.
