A total 621 malpractice cases were reported in the just concluded 2024 KCSE.
Education CS Julius Ogamba says the cases were reported from 198 examination centres.
He was however quick to add that all cases are under investigation as the exams, which ended on Friday November 22, transition into marking.
The CS spoke at Moi Comprehensive School in Nakuru West Sub county of Nakuru County.
He at the same time highlighted the Status of key reforms in Kenya’s education sector.
The CS thanked the Multi-Agency Examinations Administration Team comprising officials of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Ministry of ICT, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and other stakeholders, who have played a vital role in the efficient coordination of the examinations season.
The CS extend his heartfelt congratulations to all 2024 candidates for their resilience and dedication and thanked teachers, parents, and stakeholders for their unwavering support.
Earlier, the CS had commissioned 8 newly constructed Junior School classrooms at the Moi Comprehensive School.
The event was also graced by Dr. Belio Kipsang, Principal Secretary State Department for Basic Education, Hon. Samuel Arama, Member of Parliament for Nakuru Town West and the Kenya National Examinations Council Members led by their Chairperson Prof Julius Nyabundi, and CEO, Dr. David Njengere.
