
Sombre mood engulfed St. Peter’s Catholic church in Elburgon on Wednesday during the requiem mass for the late activist Richard Haga Otieno Raymond aka Molo President.
Governor Susan Kihika was represented by County Executive Committee Members Executive MembersĀ Zipporah Wambui (Education), Josephine Achieng (Youth, Sports, Gender, and Inclusivity), Chief Officer for Environment Kennedy Mungai, and Political Advisor Joseph Kibore.
The leaders joined mourners at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Elburgon, for the requiem mass of the late.
Richard who was eulogized as a well-known youth leader, grassroots mobilizer, dedicated young politician, and activist, was a hardworking young man who participated extensively in community and church projects.
He was a beacon of hope to his family and the wider community.
Tragically, he was killed by unknown assailants on January 18, 2025 near his home.
His death touched the hearts of many people, uniting individuals from different ethnic backgrounds and leaders from all sectors.
Those who spoke at the service condemned the act and called for justice for his family.
To facilitate his dignified send-off, Governor Susan Kihika delivered tents, contributions, and has provided three buses to ferry mourners to Siaya County on Friday, February 7, where Richard will be laid to rest.
