New guidelines by Nakuru West NG-CDF office that will ease burden of yearly applications

Nakuru Town West constituents will no longer have to tire in applying for NG-CDF bursary.

This emanated from Monday December 16, 2024 public participation Forum on NG-CDF bursary management hosted by area MP Samuel Arama.

Arama who is also the Patron of Nakuru West NG-CDF kitty, spearheaded a forum to discuss the management of the NG-CDF bursary kitty as stipulated in the Constitution.

It is during the meeting that the MP hinted at stoping the bursary applications where parents have been undergoing a lot of hustle to get the requirements every financial year.

According to Arama, there is need for a scholarship that the bursary committee shall work on using the already available students’ data to issue the cheques rather than having parents apply.

He added that once the scholarships are out, parents will only be required to confirm the posted list of beneficiaries.

The third term serving MP said this will save time wasted in applications.

“We want to think of consolidating the bursary so that we don’t have parents applying every year. The NG-CDF office will use existing data to allocate funds for subsequent years. This will save our parents from the challenges of applying every year,” stated Arama.

Meanwhile, during the forum, Parents unanimously agreed that the bursary kitty should remain under the MP’s office, citing easy accessibility, transparency, and the MP’s role in representing the people.

The Lawmaker committed to work closely with school heads to ensure that all students can access their certificates without hindrance.

Arama was accompanied by MCAs Bernard Kirui(Barut) and John Macharia(Rhonda).

The duo, reiterated the need to work together with Governor and MP in ensuring smooth issuance of bursary.

Nakuru West Deputy County Commissioner Omar Ali who was also in attendance, lauded the role played by NG-CDF kitty in transformation of society.
