
Muslim Community in Nakuru on Saturday hosted iftar ahead of end of Ramadan.
The Iftar was held at Musalaba area within Bondeni estate and attended by several leaders.

Speaking during the event, Nakuru Muslim Association Chairperson Faez Nasher called for unity among Muslims in Nakuru.
He urged leaders to shun politics of division but rather embrace unity.
During the meeting, the Muslim Community Association Chairperson also made it clear that there is no division among Muslim associations in Nakuru.
According to him, Nakuru Muslim Association will continue to advocate for the welfare of Muslims in Nakuru while SUPKEM continues to advocate at national level.
“I want to state here that there is no division in Nakuru. We are one and we shall continue to speak one language as Muslim Community in Nakuru,” he stated.
Sentiments echoed SUPKEM representative at the meeting.
Political leaders from the Muslim community in Nakuru led by MCA Fadhili Msuri (Biashara Ward) called for political tolerance.

Fadhili maintained that Nakuru is a cosmopolitan County hence divisive politics have no room.
The first time serving MCA hit out Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja for trying to attack Governor Susan Kihika instead of supporting the leadership of the day.
He pointed out that time is now for leaders to unite and work together for the betterment of the residents of Nakuru.
“We don’t need to politicize everything, our focus should be on how to assist the electorates. Let us give Governor Kihika time to deliver on the promises she made. Politics will come in 2027,” stated Fadhili.

Sentiments echoed by UDA nominated MCA Hassan Duale.
Duale was very categorical that the current leadership both in county and national should be supported.
“The train has left the station and this is where we belong supporting the Leadership of the day,” he said.
The Iftar was organized by Bondeni Youth Initiative through support of various stakeholders among them Madini Water.
The Muslim leaders while noting that the holy month of Ramadan is drawing to a close, called for need to maintain their faith and promote brotherhood, unity, and peaceful co-existence.
Also present at the Iftar were representatives of Kivumbini Ward MCA Neto Sakwa, Flamingo Ward MCA David Muraya Muna, Shabab MCA David Wathiai among others.
