
Bahati Member of Parliament Irene Njoki has called on national government to intervene on KENHA’s eviction notices to traders along Mailisita- Heshima-Maili Kumi Road.
The MP argues that on areas where no road upgrade or alternatives have been provided, there is no need for the notices.
Speaking during Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s tour of Dundori ESP Market, the MP said the matter should be re-looked at.
The Lawmaker also used the moment to lobby for jobs at Geothermal Development Company(GDC) at Menengai Crater.
According to her, the Company should give back to community through job opportunities to locals.
The matters raised by the MP caught the eyes of the Deputy President who vowed to convene a Leaders’ meeting next week to address the concerns as well as other development agenda for Bahati Constituents.

MP Njoki lauded national government for continued boat to Bahati Constituency through various projects.
She also welcomed the Deputy President’s assurance that outstanding land ownership issues in Dundori will soon be resolved and title deeds issued.
During the visit, discussion on the need for structured access to Dundori Forest under the Shamba System also happened with DP Kindiki assuring that it is allowed as long as such a move will not compromise conservation efforts.
