Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama has weighed in on the heated debate concerning impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a presser, Arama noted that the impeachment is a process and has to go through all the requirements including public participation as was carried out on Friday and Saturday.
“Impeachment of Deputy President is a process that has to follow all the legal requirements,” he stated.
Arama was however quick to point out that from his observation Kenyans and moreso from Mount Kenya region are very bitter with what is happening just two years after elections of Kenya Kwanza Government.
While likening the relationship between President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua to a Marriage Institution, Arama stated that it would proper for a replacement of Gachagua to come from the Mountain Region.
“If Gachagua’s impeachment motion sails through, then it would be in order for President Ruto to pick a replacement from Mountain Region so as to maintain the ‘marriage’ with the people of Mount Kenya region,” he stated.
Arama at the same time defended the people from Mount Kenya, adding they are not tribal when it comes to elections.
According to Arama, there are several Kenyans from Mount Kenya region residing in Nakuru Town West Constituency and they have voted him in for the third term despite his Nyamira background.
“I have many Kikuyus in my Constituency and they always vote for me. So they are not tribal but good people,” he added.
