Nakuru Town West MP Samwel Arama has reaffirmed his support for the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NGCDF), terming the kitty a catalyst of transformation agenda at grassroot.

Speaking at Nakuru West NG-CDF office during public participation on the Constitutional Amendment Bill No 4 of 2025 on NG-CDF, NGAAF and Senate Oversight Fund, the legislator defended the kitty urging constituents to support the move two to entrench the funds in the Constitution.
Arama argued that a walk in Nakuru Town West Constituency, one will notice the transformation that the fund has enabled since 2013 when the Constituency was birthed from the larger Nakuru Town Constituency.
He urged those politicians the funds to keep off adding that to the conversation should focus on people-centred development.
“We have seen what these funds can do in terms of development and that is why we are saying let’s entrench NG-CDF in the constitution for legal framework,” he said.
He at the same time told off a section of individuals claiming that the fund benefits MPs.
According to Arama, Members of Parliament are only but patrons of the kitty, adding that there is a committee in every Constituency mandated to run the kitty.
The third term serving Lawmaker maintained that the NG-CDF kitty is a people transformation fund thus should benefit Kenyans at grassroot.
“There are some individuals saying that this is MPs’ money which is not the case. This is a fund that belongs to the people and managed by national board as well as committee at grassroot,” stated Arama.
The Legislator also used the opportunity to sensitize constituents in the roles of the funds.
He noted that many Kenyans only know of bursary yet the fund has continued to transform even infrastructure in schools and community level.
According to him, prudence use of the funds to transform lives has seen many MPs re-elected.
