A section of Kenyans have expressed optimism in former Secretary General Kenya Union of Civil Servants Dr. Isaac Newton Kinity in the war against graft.
Though Kinity currently resides in USA, Kenyans back home feel he is the right person to come back home and help address the numerous challenges facing the country among them corruption.
The Kenyans drawn from various counties with a representation from youth, Universities as well as widows aired their concerns as they poured praises on Dr. Kinity for his courage in calling out the Kenyans Government on various occasions over oppressive policies.
Led by Cleophas Ogembo-an expert in Foreign Policies, they noted that the GDP of Kenyan has continued to drop.
This, they attributed to the poor policies and governance.
According to the youth, this has led to the mismanagement of some of the foreign funds that come in the country to support various programs.
“We have seen our GDP drop due to poor governance and mismanagement of funds that even come from foreign countries. We now believe that time is now for Dr. Kinity to come back to Kenya and help fight these atrocities,” he noted.
Sentiments echoed by Eric Magara who added that the young people have been neglected.
According to him, the high level of unemployment in the country has seen many young people vulnerable and easily join criminal activities.
“As young people in this country, it seems the government has forgotten about us. It is time that we want Dr. Kinity whom we believe in so much as advocate of good governance to come back to Kenya and help us,” he stated.
Widows and IDPs have also expressed harsh times that they are going through.
Led by Norah Sangara,they lauded the support that Dr. Kinity has been giving them.
Norah was however quick to note that Kinity is the only person who can come and face the government of the day and even call it out for the many challenges facing Kenyans.
She revealed that the money that was supposed to help IDPs ended in some individuals’ pockets, leaving IDPs to suffer.
“We have no voice. Kindly Dr. Kinity come back to Kenya and help us,” she said.
Elizabeth Mochache noted that widows have continued to go through a lot of oppression in society, adding that time is now for the same to be brought to limelight.
It should be noted that Dr. Isaac Kinity has been very vocal on matters accountability.
On many occasions, he has criticized President William Ruto’s administration for failing to adhere to the campaign promises, leaving Kenyans to suffer.
