Nakuru-based Springs of Hope Foundation through Kijiji Mission has a mission to empower Kenya’s growing number of young, single mothers to become self-sufficient and able to educate and support her family.

Kijiji Mission, a project of Springs of Hope Foundation provides vocational training to Kenyan women who are striving to become self-sufficient and provide for their families’ basic needs.
The majority of the women in this program are young, single mothers who are struggling to feed their families.

The women undergo an extensive one-year tailoring course.
In a celebratory note to the works being done under this project, Director of Young Generations, Rotary Club of Nakuru Rtn Col (Rtd) Raymond Cheruiyot said the Foundation has played key role towards giving girl child second chance in society.
According to Rotarian Raymond the women live in a Nakuru facility free of charge, as they attend onsite 12-month vocational training school where they develop tailoring skills and learn valuable business practices.
Once a woman graduates from the program she receives a small business loan allowing her to purchase her own treadle sewing machine.

She is then able to start her own tailoring business and earn an income that can provide food, education and basic necessities for her family.
The Foundation is doing remarkable work in empowering young women through its tailoring training program, offering skills that pave the way to financial independence and restored dignity.
In Celebrating the incredible work of Springs of Hope Foundation – Kijiji Mission, Cheruiyot expressed heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding humanitarian work being carried out by the Foundation- Kijiji Mission based at Naka estate in Nakuru City, Kenya.

He commended Director Jennifer Hughes for her efforts in sourcing for resources.
“I sincerely commend Director Jennifer Hughes for her tireless efforts in sourcing sponsors and ensuring that this noble mission remains alive and impactful. Her compassion and unwavering commitment are a true inspiration,” stated Cheruiyot.
The Rotarian also extended deep gratitude to all the donors and well-wishers who have supported this important program assuring them that their contributions are making a real difference, one life at a time.
