
Former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has challenged leaders to always have interest of the electorates at heart.
Speaking during a Requiem Mass for the late former Shabaab Ward MCA Kamau Githengi, Kinyanjui pointed out that the late Kamau believed in doing that which is in line with the law.
He recalled how dying his tenure as Governor when he had difficulty with the MCAs and the late Kamau would cite articles of constitution and standing orders despite him not being a Lawyer.
However Kamau would latter inform the then Governor that every step taken by leaders should be anchored on law.
“I have lost a great friend and leader. I knew Kamau way back when he was in the Matatu sector and one thing that stood out even as he became a leader was that he believed in the rule of law and doing that which is right. In the same spirit that I challenge leaders to emulate such,” stated Kinyanjui.
According to Kinyanjui, consultative is the way to go for all leaders.
He used the moment to also weigh in on the happenings in the country.
Kinyanjui while commenting on the ongoing political issues and wrangles between President William Ruto and his impeached Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, urged for the need for the rule of law to prevail.
“Everything that is taking place even at the national level should be within the law. Let the Constitution of Kenya be respected,” he stated.
