Nakuru residents have been urged to wake up and demand their space on the national table.
The call was made during Tusemezane Program hosted by Patrick Kinyua Prince on Nakuru TV on Thursday evening.

Speaking on the Program, Nakuru based opinion leader and analyst Engineer Victor Ngatia notes that for many years Nakuru has been used for political reasons, but when it comes to sharing of national cake then Nakuru is no where to be found.
He at the same time took issues with elected leaders in Nakuru for failing to champion for the welfare of the electorates both at the county and national levels.
Ngatia who is passionate about accountability in leadership, revealed that there has been a failure at family and society level in advocating for accountable leadership simply because some feel we are not on the dining table hence cannot fight for inclusivity.
“As Kenyans at grassroot level, its high time we start having conversations on the kind of Leaders we want moving forward,” he stated.
He challenged the business community to also show up and help shape leadership.
Sentiments echoed by Chairman and Admin The Mountain Rift Movement Jimmy Wagakabu.

According to Wagakabu, Nakuru should fight for it’s share of the national cake.
He said they will use the Movement to champion for the rights of the people and ensure accountable leaders.
“As a movement and as people if Nakuru we shall continue to advocate for a government that cares for citizens. Nakuru is the hotpot of Kenya’s politics but then the leaders from Nakuru are yet to maximize on the same from National Government,” said Wagakabu.
Mountain Rift Movement Chief Admin, Businessman and Nakuru County Political Leader Guru Philip Mwaura reiterated the same.
According to him, they have taken a stand and Mount Kenya region or any other region will not dictate Nakuru’s political stand.
“We have leaders in Nakuru and we shall be giving them our direction. We know very well at one particular time even the elected leaders have failed to ensure inclusivity and that’s why we are saying time is now for change. Let us bring even religious leaders on board,” he said.
