According to him, the MCAs should work independently and scrutinize every documents that come to the floor of the House.

He says, this will ensure accountability and transparency on the side of executive and ensure value for money.

Dr Mbae who also served as a member of budget committee during his tenure as MCA for Kabazi, was categorical that oversight role can be done independently without external interferences.

“We are telling our MCAs that time is now they wake up and ensure accountability and transparency through their oversight role. I once served in the budget committee at the assembly and did my work independently to ensure the same,” he stated.

According to Mbae, consultations are on with various stakeholders among them the oversight groups in Nakuru towards the same.

“We shall not be making mere statements oh we condemn, oh what…no. We shall be taking legal action to ensure transparency and accountability. Probably next week we shall announce our move,” he stated.

The Governance and Leadership Expert clarified that this is not a question of opposition fighting government, but it is a journey towards development and ensuring transparency and accountability in finance management.
