Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua has launched an overseas recruitment process, targeting persons interested in overseas employment.
Speaking at the Rift Valley National Polytechnic, Dr. Mutua stated that this ambitious nationwide recruitment program aims to place approximately 2,000 individuals from the County in jobs across Germany, Poland, Australia, Qatar, Dubai, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and other nations.
Nakuru County is the first County outside Nairobi to participate in this initiative, highlighting its potential for skilled labor.
Meanwhile, CS Mutua lauded Nakuru County for its pool of highly skilled individuals, that prompted the Ministry to increase the county’s allocation from the original 1,000 to nearly 2,000 job slots.
The employment positions includes civil engineers, plant operators, plumbers, chefs, caregivers, drivers, security personnel, house help, mechanics, hospitality staff, teachers, safety officers, riggers, beauticians among others.
Nakuru County Deputy Governor Kones in his remarks expressed the county’s commitment to collaborating with the government to ensure the program’s success.
He further urged the government and recruiting agencies to maximize opportunities for as many job seekers as possible to accommodate many job seekers in the County.
The event was also graced by Principal Secretary for the State Department of Labour, Shadrack Mwadime, Commissioner Loyford Kibaara,county Executive for education Zipporah Wambui,National Employment Authority Director General Edith Okoki, Director Human Resource Nakuru County Jane Wakanyi among other national government and County officials.
