Case seeking justice for missing Brian Odhiambo adjourned to Thursday

A case seeking justice for Nakuru man Brian Odhiambo who went missing in the hands of Kenya Wildlife Service officers was on Tuesday January 28 adjourned to Thursday.

This even as DCIO Nakuru East and Lake Nakuru National Park in charge failed to to produce Brian Odhiambo in court as had been ordered by a Nakuru court last week.

Brian has been missing since January 18, 2025 after KWS officers were alleged to have abducted him.

It’s a move that sparked protests in Kivumbini and Flamingo estates.

However, appearing before Nakuru Judge Justice Julius Nangea, the officers from KWS and DCIO filled affidavits in response to the case that was filed compelling them to produce the missing person alive or dead.

They told court that the missing Brian escaped from custody after they had arrested him.

Lawyer for the family Abuya Mogeni requested the court to allow them one day to peruse the voluminous document filed by the officers in order to reply to the affidavits and allow the case to proceed.

Justice Nangea granted them the request and directed that the case resume on Thursday January 30, 2024.

According to Sakwa, locals demand answers from the authorities on where they took him to.

Elizabeth Auma and the wife of Brian Odhiambo expressed concern that the officers are not showing goodwill in disclosing the whereabouts of him and called on government to find justice for them.
