Youths in Nakuru county have been urged to tap into various opportunities availed by Governor Susan Kihika’s Administration.
County Chief Officer for Youth, Sports and Talent Pastor Alex Maina alongside Chief Officer for Public Participation and Citizen Engagement Edward Gitau say the County Government has young people at heart through various opportunities in all sectors.
The duo were speaking when they engaged a team of youth from the Talk to Save Community-Based Organization (CBO) in Kaptembwo Ward, Nakuru Town West Sub-county.
The discussion focused on the various opportunities available for youth within the county.
The Talk to Save CBO, led by Mr. Mike Wambura, concentrates on four key thematic areas; environmental conservation, creative works (such as making table mats, beadwork and recycling items), entertainment and youth mentorship through sports.
CO Gitau urged the youth to utilize the spaces and opportunities available to them for personal and professional development through various skill development projects.
He reiterated Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to collaborating with the youth of Nakuru County to provide diverse opportunities.
On his part Pastor Maina emphasized the importance of collaboration in youth empowerment and encouraged the youth to support the current leadership, which is focused on delivering services to the residents of Nakuru County.
The meeting was also attended by Magdalene Khaemba (Founder of the CBO), CBO members and Simor Music’s Mr. Mwangi.
