The government might reconsider opening up the country after the World Health Organization(WHO) announced that the corona virus might be endemic meaning it may never go away anytime soon.
Cabinet Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi says that Kenyans might be forced to learn how to live with corona virus just as they did with HIV/AIDS.
She said that the government is working on plans to see how the country will move forward while at the same time trying to combat the virus.
On Wednesday WHO emergencies Director Dr Mike Ryan warned that just like HIV , corona virus might as well be endemic.
Already the virus has claimed close to 300,000 lives across the globe with over 4 million infections reported.
Governments across the world have started easing restrictions they had imposed to help in the fight against the virus.
Countries are opening up economic activities, public transport systems and schools as the world begins the journey of crawling from the effects of the pandemic.
Kenyans are hopeful that President Uhuru Kenyatta will lift the curfew and cessation of movement restrictions as the extended 21 day curfew comes to an end.
