
Kevin Mubadi is not a new name among Bodaboda operators in the country.
He is the current President Bodaboda Association of Kenya.
Though from a humble background in Western region, Mubadi’s resilience has seen him rise creating a name for himself.
He once worked as a messenger in Nairobi, a job that saw him buy himself a motorcycle.
However, one particular time while doing shopping in one of the supermarkets, the motorcycle was stolen.
This was Mubadi’s turning point where he though of starting an Association to champion for the rights of Bodaboda operators in the country.
It is at this point that he started the process of registering a national Association.
Though, he faced obstacles, the Association was registered and through it Mubadi has continued to fight for the rights of Bodaboda operators.
He commands respect across the country for championing the reforms of boda boda sector.
Due to his spirited effort in championing for welfare of boda boda riders, the government rewarded him and offered him a fully functional office, high end SUV vehicle and security personnel.
Whenever he arrives in a meeting, his presence is felt from the security personnel in black suits with radio calls and security spectacles, who will always blink eyes right and left to ensure the boss is safe.
Infact, one might mistake that a senior government official has arrived, only to learn that it is Mubadi-The President Bodaboda Association of Kenya.
Looking at him you can see leadership traits, deeply engraved in his heart and mind.
He maintains that his aim is to see a reformed Bodaboda sector that can help drive Economy.
Speaking in Molo Town, Nakuru County on March 28, 2024 during a road safety sensitization clinic organized by Watu Credit Kenya and NTSA, Mubadi revealed that the Association is engaging Ministry of Interior to see to it that all motorbike Bodaboda operators’ data is in a management system.
This, he said will help address the issue of theft and criminal activities by a few individuals.
“We are continuing with efforts towards reforms agenda in motorcycle sector across the country,” he said.
