What you need to know about Government’s performance and delivery roadshow

The Kenya Kwanza government will hold performance and delivery roadshow.

This is according to Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.

In a statement to newsrooms undersigned by Head of Ministerial Programmes at the Ministry Dr.Peter Mbae, the roadshow is aimed to enhance efficiency, effective and responsiveness.

“Further to Kenya Kwanza’s commitment to a more effective, efficient and responsive Government, a high-level team is from Tuesday, 9th January engaging all Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and heads of State Corporations in the ministries, with the aim of better aligning Government priority programmes, projects and budgets to The Plan, Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda, Medium Term Plan and Vision 2030,” reads part of the statement.

The Steering team is drawn from the Offices of Deputy President, Prime Cabinet Secretary, Chief of Staff & Head of Public Service, Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries with cross-cutting roles.

It also has State Law Office, Secretary to the Cabinet, Presidential Council of Economic Advisors, Presidential Economic Transformation Secretariat, Government Spokesperson, State Corporations Advisory Committee, Inspectorate of State Corporations, DG E-CITIZEN, DG KSG and Government Delivery Service.

The ten-day Roadshow will be hosted by Cabinet Secretaries in their respective offices.

The exercise is expected to capture the policy, legal and institutional changes that need to be adopted, programmes that need to be merged/streamlined/synergized across Government to avoid duplication and wastage.

It will also help in aligning with both exchequer and donor funded budgeting.

Independent commissions will also be engaged on their support to overall government objectives.

The generated report with specific proposals, implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation matrix is expected to be validated by all consumers and implementing agencies before being presented for discussion and adoption at high levels of Government.

Coming after the past phase of this administration where preliminary hurdles have been subdued and key programmes and projects identified, the targeted resolutions out of this initiative will set the country into a complete take off towards a sustainable socio economic transformation.
