On Wednesday October 29, 2025 President William Ruto launches the state-of-the-art CT scan unit at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital.
But what does this really mean to the Nakuru residents?
Well, famousnakuru.co.ke looks into details of this to bring you to perspective.
First, this is a clear demonstration of Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment to integrating technology in the delivery of quality healthcare to our people.
The Sh130 million equipment, which is power-efficient and AI-enabled, brings hope, efficiency, and accuracy to the diagnosis and treatment of thousands of patients who rely on this hospital every year.
With this advanced CT scan machine, doctors will now be able to detect complex conditions — such as cancers, internal injuries, and neurological disorders — more quickly and accurately, saving both time and lives.
The new CT scan will serve up to 100 patients a day, doubling the capacity of the previous machine.
This, even as County revealed that Similar installations will soon be made at the Naivasha Level 4 Hospital and the Molo Level 4 Hospital.
During the commissioning, President Ruto lauded Nakuru County as the first county to install this state-of-the-art machine and pledged to partner with Nakuru County in replacing all asbestos roofs at the hospital.
“I remain committed to ensuring the provision of quality, affordable, and timely medical care across Nakuru County,” stated Kihika.
