What construction of Rironi-Mau Summit Highway means for Susan Kihika’s political ambition

It is a dream come true for the Rironi Mau Summit Highway construction.

But then what does it mean for the Nakuru residents and the political ambition for Governor Susan Kihika moving forward?

Well, famousnakuru.co.ke delves into this to put straight.

To begin with, this is a Highway passing through Nakuru City.

This means there will be stopovers in Nakuru city and any other urban centre within or without the town along the Highway.

What this means is that there shall be glow of money once the operations begins.

Besides the operations benefits, the construction works means locals will also get casual jobs, as requested by Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria.

But what does it mean for Governor Susan. Kihika?

It will go in history that it is during her regime that the road was done.

Governor Kihika who accompanied President William Ruto during the ground breaking ceremony, stated that the undertaking is central to her infrastructure priorities for the people of Nakuru.

“The upgrade and expansion of the 175km corridor will ease congestion, lower accident rates and eliminate costly delays between Mau Summit and Nairobi. It will stimulate urban growth, enhance infrastructure across Nakuru, strengthen agriculture through quicker access to markets, and create vital employment opportunities for youths within Nakuru County,” she said.

She also used the opportunity to commend  the President for unveiling the tender for the construction of the Salgaa–Nessuit–Bomet Road and confirming plans for a Level 6 Hospital in Nakuru.

An additional 22,000 housing units are underway under the Affordable Housing Program, alongside 21 ESP ultra-modern markets, including those at Kamara and Seguton, and new hostels for 8,000 students.

Kihika revealed that a Level 4 Hospital intended to serve residents of Kuresoi North is also under construction.

Kihika assured the President of full support and unwavering commitment to collaborate with the National Government in advancing the socio-economic transformation of Nakuru County.

The event was also graced by Cabinet Secretaries Davis Chirchir, John Mbadi, Lee Kinyanjui, principal secretaries, MPs, Nakuru CECs and MCAs.
