Luhya MPs Walk Out of Atwoli’s meeting at his Kajiado home

A Luhya meeting convened by COTU boss Francis Atwoli at his Kajiado home on Friday ended prematurely after the western legislators allied to Mudavadi and Wetangula walked out enmasse.

Those in attendance also included Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa.

The meeting that began quite well shortly after 2pm disintegrated into name calling and shouting match when Atwoli tried to bully the legislators to pledge allegiance to ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Those from ANC and Ford Kenya were however hesitant that they were only loyal to their parties and party leaders.

The meeting that had brought over 30 legislators ended with paltry ODM MPs remaining.

The bad blood between Western leaders and Raila Odinga escalated on Thursday when the ODM party dewhipped ANC and Ford Kenya allied MPs from crucial committees and leadership roles in Parliament.

Meanwhile, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi had another high profile meeting. The meeting held in Nairobi brought together unlikely political players in what could be the birthing of a new political outfit.

The meeting was attended by among others Musalia Mudavadi, Martha Karua, Peter Kenneth and Dr. Sally Kosgey.
