Nakuru Town East Parliamentary aspirant Wakili Boniface Ndumia has challenged young people to register in full numbers as voters in the ongoing exercise.
Speaking at Blankets grounds during Menengai Ward Finals for Ndumia NTE Tournament, the Lawyer argued that time is now for young people in Nakuru Town East to participate in the electoral process.
He pointed out that in the current dispensation, young people should not be discouraged, but should have confidence in the electoral process and participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
According to Ndumia, come 2027, the youth in Nakuru Town East and Kenya as a whole will have great say in the kind of leaders to be elected.
“I want to tell young people that this is the time to make their voices count. Let them not be discouraged by what happened in the past electoral process. I call on youth to register and ensure they participate fully in the electoral process,” he stated.
Ndumia has solely sponsored the Wakili NTE Inter-Wards Tournaments that will climax at the best 16 at Kamukunji grounds.
He revealed that he approached young people and heard their cry in terms of talent growth and decided to come up with the the tournament.
Wakili Ndumia in an interview stated that the tournament has nothing to do with politics, but one of the many initiatives that he has initiated.
Besides the tournament, Wakili Ndumia has also empowered a number of young people through providing empowerment tools such as the car wash machines.
He says, this is just the beginning of the many good things to come for Nakuru Town East residents.
While noting unemployment as a challenge in Nakuru Town East Constituency for many years, Wakili Ndumia vows to work with other partners and industries to ensure such challenges are addressed, hence impact positively on security in various estates.
“Our young people in Nakuru Town East have had challenges in terms of employment. As a leader I will work with industries and other partners to ensure the issue is addressed,” he stated.
He at the same time used the moment to call in youth and residents of Nakuru Town East Constituency to come out in large numbers and make a change in leadership.
According to Wakili Ndumia, the script for Nakuru Town East Constituency in terms of leadership is being re-written.
“Nakuru Town East Constituency has had the image of electing hooligans and people who are not learned, but time is now that we change this script in 2027,” he said.
