Nakuru-based Advocate of the High Court Bernhard Kipkoech Ng’etich has urged both National and County Governments to invest in sports.
The Legal expert argues that this is the only way to ensure youth and talent empowerment.
He was speaking when he toured Kenegut, Kapsoit, Ainamoi in Kericho County where he interacted with sports talents among them athletes.
“Athletics has placed Kenya in the international map as an athletic powerhouse,” stated Ng’etich.
He added that Kenya ranks very highly in middle and long distance races going by what happened recently in Japan during the world championship.
According to the vocal High Court Lawyer, Competitive Athletics pays well for resilient and tenacious athletes.
He noted that the first athletic gold medalist Kiprugut Chumo came from Kericho hence Kericho is the origin of Champions, besides being the home of champions.
Wakili Ng’etich also visited Kenegut Eagles Athletics Base Camp in Kapsoit, Ainamoi in Kericho County.
He used the moment to encourage the athletes to focus on training and run clean in the wake of rampant doping in the international plane.
