Wakili Ng’etich calls for thorough investigations into Litein High School fire incident

High Court Lawyer Bernhard Kipkoech Ng’etich has called for through investigations into weekend’s fire incident at Litein High School in Bureti Constituency of Kericho County.

The boys are said to have gone on rampage after they were denied chance to watch a football game between Arsenal and Manchester United.

Property of unknown was destroyed during the strike that led to the closure of the school indefinitely.

High Court Lawyer Bernhard Kipkoech Ng’etich termed the incident unfortunate.

“As the aftermath of Litein High School rampage continues to sink, I cannot help but sympathise with innocent students and parents as well as the community and Kenya at large. Innocent candidates have lost precious time to recap their preparation for examination. The Community and Kenyans have lost critical infrastructure and legacy built with brick, mortar and sweat over the years,” he stated.

The Lawyer called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations – DCI, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Kenya and Board of Management to conduct rigorous and incisive investigations into the criminal activities that have reduced a national pride and heritage into a shell.

According to him, no innocent person should be punished and no criminal should escape the legal dragnet.

“If any student feels disinterested with learning, do not raze down a school. March out through the gate and go face your parents/Guardians. That is a misdemeanor compared to arson. I wish all candidates godspeed as they prepare to sit their national examination,” he said.
