Wakili Ndumia vows to ensure a decent send-off for late Christopher Kariuki ‘Kawasaki’

Nakuru Town East MP aspirant Wakili Boniface Githinji Ndumia has vowed to ensure a decent send off for Christopher Kariuki alias Kawasaki- a resident of Kivumbini Ward who succumbed after ilness.

Speaking on Tuesday February 17, 2026 when he joined family, relatives, friends and residents for candle-lighting session in honor of the late Kawasaki, Wakili Ndumia recalled the last moments he had with the late.

He added that he had a conversation with the late not knowing it would be his last conversation with him.

Wakili Ndumia condoled with the family assuring of his support moving foward.

While noting that he has Victor from the family in his campaign team, Wakili Ndumia was categorical that he understands the pain the family is going through for the loss of their father.

He called on his Team Wakili, residents of Kivumbini and all those who knew the late Kawasaki to show up on Wednesday for final send off reiterating that Kawasaki should be given a decent send off as he was a legend.

“We stand with the family and we shall ebsure we give my friend a decent send off, ” he stated.

Addressing mourners during the candle lighting session, Wakili Ndumia revealed that in honor of Kawasaki, he had suspended all his political activities.

John Githanga of the Nakuru County Golden Years Group who happens to be a family member of Kawasaki on his part lauded Wakili Ndumia for stepping in with financial support towards hospital bill as well as fundraiser for the funeral arrangements.

Sentiments echoed by Benson Macharia from Friends of Devolution.

According to Macharia, Wakili Ndumia has demostrated that he is a leadee who is close to the people.

The late Kawasaki will be laid to rest at Nakuru South Cemetery on Wednesday February 18, 2026.
