Wakili Ndumia vows to address drugs abuse among youth in NTE Wards through pragmatic measures

Drugs and substance abuse among young people in Nakuru Town East will be a thing of past.

Nakuru Town East Parliamentary seat aspirant Wakili Boniface Githinji Ndumia says he will address the menace that has continued to derail development and productivity among youth.

Speaking when he met opinion leaders in Menengai East Ward, Wakili Ndumia was categorical that drugs and substance abuse, alcoholism have also affected security in various Wards.

He pointed out that you cannot separate the issues, but was quick to state that his strategy is listening to the people, getting the right issues affecting them before he can strategize on how to find a solution.

“I will give priority to addressing drugs and substance abuse among young people. I am a Father, husband and a leader and I understand what it means when our children are involved in drugs and substance abuse. My plan is to listen before I can come up with amicable solutions,” he said.

He assured the residents that with his experience in the legal field, Kenya has enough legal resources to address the drugs and substance abuse as well as crime.

According to him, the various agencies in the country have specific mandate and it only calls for a sobre leader who can work with the agencies to address the same.

Wakili Ndumia reiterated his commitment towards the same and urged constituents to back his mission moving forward.

He regreted that pack of political will from current leadership has led to the surge in drugs and substance abuse among youth as well as criminal activities.

“We have both National and County authorities to deal with this issues from Nacada to police and local administrators, but why is it that we still have this menace? It’s because the leaders are beneficiaries of the menace. A time is now that we have to reason as constituents of Nakuru Town East,” he said.
