Cancer and moreso so prostate cancer continues devastate families.
It is a health matter that has drawn the attention of Nakuru Town East Parliamentary seat aspirant Wakili Boniface Githinji Ndumia.
Ndumia who spoke at Nakuru South Cemetery on Wednesday February 18, 2026 during burial of boxing legend Christopher Kariuki alias Kawasaki, said many families have continued to suffer due to cancer menace.
He noted that cancer has left many families in financial crisis due to medical expenses.
According to Wakili Ndumia, there has been a huge medical challenge in society affecting men over 40 years- prostate cancer.
He pointed out that there have been campaigns for screwning women for cervical and breast cancer while ignoring the risk of prostate cancer in men.
“We have had campaigns for screening our women for cervical and breast cancer while ignoring the risk of prostate cancer in our men within the age set mentioned above,” he said.
However, Wakili Ndumia hinted at a plan that he has moving forward to help address the same.
Ndumia who is eyeing Nakuru Town East Parliamentary seat, assured that he will advocate for both blood and radiological screening of men beyond 50 years to arrest such cases early abd treat the begining ones before they mutate to malignancies.
