Nakuru Town East residents have been urged to put things in order come 2027 by electing a leader of sobre mind who can transform the cosmopolitan Constituency.
Wakili Boniface Ndumia who three months ago declared that he will be contesting the seat, says time is now for change on the type of leadership in Nakuru Town East Constituency.
Addressing on Sunday November 16, 2025 when he graced the finals for Menengai East Ward Football tournament that he sponsored, Wakili Ndumia called on Constituents to make right decision on ballot.
“We need to take leadership seriously and weigh before making decisions on the ballot on who among the leaders cares for the electorates,” he said.
According to him, statistics indicate that young people make 60 percent of Nakuru Town East Constituency population.
However, drugs and substance abuse, and unemployment continues to affect youth more in the Constituency.
He told off leaders who are busy messing up the lives of young people buying them drugs and alcohol as well as dishing out hand-outs.
According to him, such have no agenda for the electorates.
“We need to elect people with integrity and character to avert suffering for the next 5 years. Let us not repeat the mistakes of 2022,” he said.
He at the same hit out at those who have been in leadership and failed to address the concerns and needs of the people.
The Lawyer argued that such should not be entrusted again in any political position.
“Those in leadership and have failed should not be trusted with any other position. There has been a trend in the country where leaders are given slots then they mess up and decide to go for higher seats, which should not be the case,” he said.
Wakili Ndumia has vowed to visit all the Wards in Nakuru Town East.
He revealed that he will be meeting united Opposition leaders next week to chat way forward.
During the finals that have been taking place in all the Wards within Nakuru Town East Constituency, winners make home with monetary awards besides sports equipment.
The grand finale is expected to be staged at Kamukunji grounds with 16 best teams expected to battle it out.
