There is need for highest professionalism in the hospitality industry in order to woe investors and tourists in the country.
Speaking in Nakuru on Friday during the graduation of 117 students who have gone through 2 weeks refresher course in the sector, Deputy Head of studies at the Kenya Utalii College Mr. Wilson Mwangi said as an Institute they are working hard to ensure the workers in the industry have the skills required.
He stated that they are putting more emphasis on professionalism in the sector by ensuring proper training while at the college as well as a follow-up on the workers while in the field of their duty through refresher courses.
He also lauded the government for the continued support to the industry through the Tourism fund.
“As an institution we are working hard to ensure that the workers in the industry have the professional skills that they require to meet the needs of the customers. We commend the government for supporting the training through the Tourism Fund” he said.
Similar sentiments echoed by Pastor Alex Maina who is also a stakeholder in the hospitality industry.
He lauded the Kenya Utalii College for coming up with the refresher course saying it will help a lot in enhancing service delivery in the sector.
We really need professionalism in each and every sector and I must commend the College for coming up with this refresher course program” he said.
This even as the Kenya Utalii College is in a move to ensure campuses are established in each and every county.
According to Mr. Wilson Mwangi, they are in consultations with various counties to ensure such is achieved.
“We are actually working with various counties to ensure that we have our campuses established in each and every county” he said.
David Mwangi from Ole Ken Hotel Nakuru called on all investors running hotels in Nakuru to support the program saying it will enhance service delivery.
