Drama was witnessed at Ravine-Baringo stage in Nakuru town following protests by members of the public and Matatu operators against harrassment by county askaris and security team.
According to reliable sources,drama commenced after county askaris arrested one of the managers of the Mogotio Line PSVs at Baringo-Ravine stage.
The move saw Friends of Devolution Chairman Benson Macharia arrested.
The security team accusing Macharia of alledged incitement and chanting slogans “Lee Must Go”.
However,as per report from Central Police station,Macharia will be charged with creating disturbance.
He was released on a free police Bond.
It will be recalled that Matatu operators have been in conflict withghe county government of Nakuru since they were relocated from CBD im April.
Speaking at Nakuru Central Police station where Macharia was being held in custody,Simon Ole Nasieku from Nakuru Accountability Forum condemned the excess use of force on Matatu operators.
Already the Nakuru Accountability Forum had written to the county commander Tito Kilonzi to enforce court order that temporary restrained the ongoing construction of the main stage along Geofrey Kamau/Mburu Gichua Road next to GateHouse.
By the time of publishing this article already the county police Commander had enforced the same.
