Kenyan traders will be able to access European market.
This is an assurance from Co-operatives Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui.
He was speaking on Monday April 22,2024 afternoon when he hosted European Union Ambassador to Kenya, Henriette Geiger and her delegation: Filippo Amato (Head of Trade) and Thomas Von Handel (Head of PPI).
During the meeting, Chelugui outlined possible areas of collaboration and partnerships between his Ministry and the European Union.
Geiger lauded the efforts by the Kenya government and the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs— the cornerstone of the Bottom Up Economic Transmission Agenda (BETA)—to spur economic growth.
“We’re keen to enter into partnership with the EU and help our traders to access the European market in the long-run,” stated Chelugui.
The meeting was attended by New KPCU PLC CEO Timothy Mirugi, Deputy Chief of Staff in the office of the Deputy President, Eric Wachira, Commissioner of Cooperatives David Obonyo and Micro and Small Enterprises Authority – MSEA Head of Marketing Evans Bullut.
