Menengai Oil Refineries Limited today donated 200 cartons each with 48 pieces of soap to be distributed to low income and vulnerable groups in Nakuru County.
This will complement the County Government of Nakuru’s efforts to prevent spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company’s Head of Marketing Mr Simpson Osiemo said the COVID-19 is a global threat and should not be left to governments to handle it alone.
“Every company should endeavour to engage in partnerships that make an impact in the lives of the ordinary people in the society,” said Mr Osiemo.
While receiving the consignment, Public Health CO Mr Samuel King’ori thanked the company for the donation and said an ordinary bar soap has been medically proven to kill the COVID-19 virus.
“The soaps contain chemical elements that break the protein and fat envelopes that make up the virus and washed away from the hands by running water,” he explained.
The County Government of Nakuru has dedicated 0724 320 853 and 0722 337 018 for residents to report suspected Covid-19 cases.
